<br>will be split into one main "frontpage", making more room for
<br>frontpage-related stuff, and there will be one dashboard view for
<br>developers (well, anyone, really), which will be more user-centric,
<br>removing some stuff from the frontpage.
<br><br>Any ideas about what to move from the frontpage -> dashboard? And what
<br>would you like on the dashboard?

<br>* Notification about issues recently reported

<br><br>In short we appear to have two issues here:
<br>1. TinyMCE is not converting the <a> tag. I cant help on this as
<br>regular expressions and JavaScript both are not my thing. I guess that
<br>would be easiest to chase up with MoxieCode. The latest version of
<br>TinyMCE doesnt fix the issue. This is the root cause - whee it isnt
<br>BUGS' fault :D
<br>2. Entities are doubly encoded, stopping reversion of what happened.
<br><br>As an aside, editing the link in TinyMCE does not show the old URLs
<br>value in the dialog. Not sure if this is related.

<br>BUGS 2 Release Candidate will be released - and boy, do we have
<br>something for everyone...
<br><br>Since the last release in the 1.x series, we've been hard at work
<br>creating the ultimate follow-up to one of the easiest issue trackers
<br>around, and we are very proud of what we've accomplished. Not
<br>withholding anything, here is the short list of improvements since BUGS
<br>1.9 (there are more, but we simply cannot list them all):
<br><br>* Better user management with groups and teams
<br>* More refined access control
<br>* Powerful and advanced search functionality
<br>* Source code control integration
<br>* Articles, news and billboards
<br>* Calendars with events, meetings and todo's
<br>* Project dashboard with live statistics and overview

<br>* Issue sub-tasks which can be promoted to individual issues

<br>We have made some huge improvements to the module configuration section.
<br>You can now write your own modules, then install/uninstall and configure
<br>them directly from the module configuration interface.
<br><br> * Big improvements in the BUGS 2 architecture
<br>We have made some big improvements in the underlying BUGS 2
<br>architecture, introducing a trigger system which will make writing
<br>modules easier. We had something in place for that earlier, but it
<br>wasn't as elegant as we'd like. More documentation on this is coming,
<br>but this forced us to move a lot of the module stuff to the new
<br>architecture. This was the number one reason we had to delay the beta 4
<br>release.
<br><br> * New themes
<br>Eye-candy is always nice, and sometimes it brings a bit of "freshness".
<br>The new default icon theme in BUGS 2 has a more "polished" look than the
<br>one we are currently using. The new default theme is using icons from
<br>the Oxygen icon set, primarily known from KDE 4.
<br><br> * More help
<br>We have moved the help files out into the translated folders, which
<br>makes all the help sections translatable. We haven't finished all the
<br>help sections yet, but they will come with the release of the RCs.
<br><br> * Importing data from BUGS 1.9
<br>You can now import data from your existing BUGS 1.9 installation (1.9 is
<br>the only supported version for importing). This should be done
<br>immediately after installing BUGS 2, if you want to import, since it
<br>will automatically overwrite existing products, users and issues. If you
<br>need this feature - please test it and report back bugs!
<br><br> * The usual round of bug- and security fixes
<br>The last beta release was far from bug-free, and even a major bug in the
<br>installer got through into the beta release. We think we've managed to
<br>find all the showstopper bugs for this beta release, so it should
<br>install and behave properly. Of course - bugs may still exist, but it
<br>should take more effort to find them this time.
<br><br>As you can see, it's a long list, and it took much longer to get this
<br>beta release out the door than we wanted. Our online bug-tracker is
<br>currently offline for maintenance, as we will be upgrading it to beta 4
<br>later tonight. Unfortunately, we cannot migrate the data we had in beta
<br>3 so far over to this beta, which means that you will have to
<br>re-register if you previously registered with our online bug tracker. We
<br>apoligise for the inconvenience.

<br>caused by a lot of things, but mainly lack of time to finish the planned
<br>features.
<br>We will do a new beta release within a day or two which fixes the main
<br>issues from beta 3, that many of you have reported, such as B2-113 and
<br>not being able to continue from step 3 in the "report issue" wizard.
<br><br>If we're lucky, we'll be able to finish the upgrade functionality in
<br>this release - if not, we'll release it without. The only main
<br>functionality that is left is the upgrade functionality, every other
<br>planned feature is in place (or just getting final finishing touches).
<br><br>I'm apologize to all of you who have been waiting for this release -
<br>more information about what's in the next beta release is coming :)

BUGS' translation support differs a lot from the one in BUGS 1. We will not focus on how we did it in BUGS 1 in this email - just know that if you was one of the translators for BUGS 1, you should read carefully.</p>

If you are able to translate BUGS 2 into your language, then please send us the language files - we will be more than happy to include your translation as an available option during the installation! However, please coordinate your efforts with us, as there might be someone else doing the same translation.</p>

If you look at the default installation, there is a folder named "en_US" in there. If you want to translate BUGS 2 into your own language, you should start by making a copy of that folder, place it in the i18n/ folder, and name it according to your language code. BUGS 2 will then give you that new language as an option in the Configuration Center -> General settings.</p>

The initial translation support has been started this weekend, and we are already well underway translating BUGS 2. Unless someone is generous enough to provide us with a translation during the RC (release candidate) period, we will ship with an English and Norwegian translation when BUGS 2 launches.</p>

<br>the release of BUGS 2 beta 1.

<br>* Changed: "Report issue" wizard is now using AJAX instead of 10 page
<br>refreshes to report a bug. This should make the process a lot less

<br>language. After Beta 3 we will enter "feature freeze", which means we
