Banana 6-Voice Poly Synth Schematics?

Hi again,

as my studio developes more and more into a storage for vintage synths that need repair, itŽs not unusual that sometimes a rare synth shows up. Like the Banana 6-Voice Poly Synth. The unit i have is dead. No sounds etc...
Does anyone have service notes or schematics for this nice Oberheim-look-a-like?
It really would be a shame if this rarity would remain dead...

Best wishes,

Tobias

We must see pictures of the banana 6-voice poly before anyone can help. ;)
Sound interesting, was this handmade or manufactured?

Hi Kylee, hi Tobias,

my Banana is also dead ... the one and only resource of schematics I know about is Achim Lenzgens synth repair shop near Koblenz (Germany). Achim was the former repair guy of Synthesizer Studio Bonn where Kraftwerk regularly bought their synth stuff.

I called them some time ago and they were not willing to make a copy of the schematics or sell them! You have to repair your Banana by them...

For all who do not know: The Banana looks (and should sound) similar to the Oberheim synths at that time. 200 were made by Synthesizer Studio Bonn, most of them probably sold in Germany.

Frank

Hi Frank,

thank you for the information. I knew that it was build by SSB, and the story behind this synth. But I didnŽt think far enough to contact the guys directly ;)
Well, I think I donŽt have to do this after this info. Too bad, but then I have to troubleshoot this thingie myself. I think this is possible, as it is build around a handful of Curtis chips, and each voice sits on a seperate card. But because IŽm lazy I thought i ask for more information first.

Thanks again,

Tobias
