Banshee starts with an empty window and won't play a thing

I'm running OS X 10.5.7 and Mono 2.4.2.2. After starting Banshee.app, and empty window starts straight into the background, no media files will open and quitting the application takes ages. A respectable amount of exceptions gets thrown into the console:

It's done the exact same thing to me and every other person whose tried that I have spoken to and it's just too buggy on OSX.
