Bar Code ReaderI've been looking around and is there any support for a USB barcode
reader? I'd like to integrate my DVD collection to be tracked by mrhouse and possibly some of the kitchen groceries. I lend out my dvd's to friends on a regular basis, and it would be nice to track when I take a dvd out of the house. The grocery thing I was thinking I could set stock levels on certain items like juice and soup and bread and stuff, and that would make it a little easier for when I go grocery shopping. I just recently got my server online that I will be using for this project, and am still going through all the config of it. Thanks. -- -=/>Thom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. Re: Bar Code ReaderHi Thom,
I'm also interested in the barcode reader. Most of them emulate data coming in via the keyboard. Some just send data to the serial port. Great for bring into MH. My big issue with this is, getting a database of the items with their barcodes. There are databases available in the UK etc that have all of the common groceries but I'm having trouble locating a database for Australia. My wife quite extensively uses the Shopping List and scanning in the items as they are used would be a great way to add them back onto the shopping list. Regards, Neil Wrightson. Re: Bar Code ReaderI don't know about bar code integration with MH but you can buy a
modded CueCat off ebay for less than $20. Its sometimes takes a couple of swipes but I like mine for the money. It convets the bars to ASCII, requires no drivers in any OS I've used it on, and just behaves like a second keyboards.
