Benchmarking KDE?

Hi,
in the kde-solaris project we've got to a point where vast majority of
KDE 4.3 builds*, so now we're turning to fixing crashes and other
lower priority stuff.
Generally KDE feels slower on OpenSolaris than on Linux so I'd like to
try some optimizations.
Is there any tool that would help me measure the impact of different
tweaks on KDE performance?
TIA

There is the tool called kstartperf which tells you the time it took a
KDE app to start up... I think you could make a reasonably reliable
startup test script around that ;-)

Well it depends on how deep you want to get into the code ;) I would suggest
that you look into the QTest Benchmarking framework and write a few unit
tests. This will benefit everyone if you do it this way ;)
