cell surface markers for THP-1 cells

Hi,

I am currently working with THP-1 cells (ATCC TIB 202). I mainly work with this cells without differentiating them. I want to do some cell surface expression analysis of these cells using Flow Cytometry, and I am trying to find some good positive controls to perform the necessary compensation in flow cytometry.

Most of the literature I have found on flow cytometry conducted on THP-1 cells is performed on THP-1 cells which have been differentiated with either PMA or Vitamin D. And this differentiation causes a tremendous difference in the expression profile of THP-1 cells, especially CD14 which is not expressed in undifferentiated THP-1 cells.

I am wondering whether anybody can suggest a good marker for undifferentiated THP-1 cells.

Thanks.

The online course, Introduction to Bioinformatics, is designed to
provide professional development for biologists working in a wide range
of different areas. For example, it would be suitable for anyone with
an interest in immunological bioinformatics or systems immunology.
Students successfully completing the assessments will receive a
certificate from The University of Manchester.

As for all our distance courses, teaching is delivered in a Virtual

Teaching and learning are focussed around tutor-supported exercises. In
this course, participants work together on the interpretation of their
results, before receiving feedback from the course tutor.

I'm helping a modeler try to tackle a hairy vaccine dose prediction
problem, and need to scare up some data. Several hours of lit searches
have yielded some, but not enough information.

Once I got past all the hybridoma and tumor cell production rate
papers, I found several old papers on antibody production rates in
various primary cell systems. Most of it was ex vivo, but little was
done to try to correlate that data with in vivo observation (either
tissue-specific rates or peripheral blood concentration). Also, there
is a broad range of estimates depending on the analysis done to make
those estimates (2000 molecules/cell/min to about seven times that).

Is anyone aware if there are direct comparisons done on rodent v.
primate Ab production rates? In other words, is there a reason to
think that a maximally stimulated rodent plasma cell would produce
dramatically more or less IgM or IgG than a comparable human cell?
Thanks
Actually, I need to isolate neutrophils, DCs and Kupffer cells and I haven't found a protocol that I can use for the separation of the three types of cells. If you know a protocol that addresses this, I would greatly appreciate that information.

There are many anticogulants e.g haparin, ACD and EDTA are few of them.Usage of ACD/EDTA/heparin actually depends what you want to do with isolated neutrophiles.

In our experience of DNA typing, we are using ACD instead of EDTA. Acid Citrate Dextros has advantage especially in DNA amplification (PCR reactions) as EDTA cause amplification problem in amplification, and Heparin is expensive.

Hi,

I am needing the C41(DE3), C41(DE3)pLysS and C43(DE3), C43(DE3)pLysS (E.
Does anybody have these bacterias?
//Can anybody help me?
Thank you very much,

**C41(DE3), C41(DE3)pLysS and C43(DE3), C43(DE3)pLysS
E. coli BL21(DE3) strains, like Lucigen's E. cloni EXPRESS Competent
Cells provide reliable expression of many proteins cloned into T7
expression vectors (e.g., pET or Lucigen's pSMART®-cDNA vectors).
However, in some cases expression is minimal or not detectable because
the recombinant protein, when expressed, is deleterious or lethal to
these standard BL21 strains. Examples of such toxic proteins include
many membrane proteins, some cytoplasmic proteins, and nucleases.
Unfortunately, successful expression of one or more toxic proteins is
often important to the experimental goal.

You may use both but the second one is better since some inespecific
stimulation can slightly increase the background in the ELISA. The best
I am working on the development of nanoparticulate vaccine. While
should be the negative control is it preimmune sera or the sera of
