Question about Lyme and antipsychotics

Hello!

Can you please help me!? I think I have Lyme Disease. I had awful pain in my spine, when I took antipsychotic Seroquel, pain disappeared.

I have read that benzimidazoles (ingredients in antipsychotic drugs) is in Lyme vaccines? Is it true? Can Seroquel kill borrelia and took away the pain?

Please can you please answer me! This is important! I have to go to see doctor if this is Lyme!!!

People are contracting a tiny white parasite from clothing of retail stores or other sources. This pest is neither a mite nor a flea. Because it's airborne and breeds really fast, it's extremely difficult to control and get read of. I’ve discovered one other parasite victim. I’ve been told other victims exist. I contracted this pest via clothing at Value City. It has been a nightmare experience!

Extermination:
We've tried RID, Kleen Free Enzymes, and various pesticide sprays. I've sprayed like crazy EVERY day. I even spray my clothing with RID. I wash my hair every night. Yet I'm still seeing this pest. The other victim had a worse case, and she’s pleased with the Kleen Free product. I use it daily, but I haven’t seen any lasting results.

Please pay close attention as I describe the physical attributes and symptoms of this pest. If someone has this pest, they will see 3 types of white things:
1) tiny round things about the size of a spec of salt
2) tiny, oblong shaped, things that look like a piece of thread or fiber; about 1/16 of an inch long
3) slightly larger white things that jump
Either #2 and/or #3 flies; It is an airborne pest.

Optional: Victims may see tiny black things the same as item # 1 and # 2 above.

If someone has this pest, they will have the following physical symptoms:
1) Bites that sting
2) Red skin rashes and/or small red bumps
3) Lighting sensations; Victims will feel something periodically lighting on their skin.
4) Optional: Itching **I don’t itch, but another victim has an itching problem.

Pest Habits:
When hand-picked from hair, clothing, etc., the pest will attack with bites. This tiny white pest can be found anywhere. Once it gets in an environment, it will be all over the place. It likes clothing, hair, and dark colored items. The #1 and #2 white things rest on material and non-material items. ie, a totebag or pocketbook They’ll infest someone’s car, also.

Pest Control---I haven't yet found a pesticide that completely removed the pest and its eggs. Over a period of weeks, constant spraying can yield a reduction in pest population. Due to the fast breeding, the infestation does not go away. This is a relentless pest!

Challenges:
Entomologists have not been able to identify samples sent to them. Therefore, this pest is not an insect. It's either a parasite or arthropod. Presently, I'm trying to find an ectoparasitologist to submit samples to. I need the scientific name for this pest. If you have time to help me do research, that would be helpful.

This "extermination" coincided with the emergence of various strains of this organism to which the pigeon's body does not react with a violent immune response and create these cheesy masses. Without an immune response, these more virulent strains are invisible to the naked eye but can easily invade the body, attacking and destroying the liver and various other internal organs.

Two Parasitology questionYou can very carefully add a small drop of oil and
go to oil immersion to check out details of any possible parasite. However,
this will oil up your coverslip and you won't be able to go back to high dry
on that section of your slide again. You have to move gently or the
questionable parasite under your lens will move :-(. So....you've got to be
pretty sure you've got something before you do this. I've always scanned
iodine preps under 20X and go down to 40X to check suspicious items. You can
pretty much tell on most parasites at that power. Very small parasites
require going down to oil.

I have worked as a med tech for 35 years and we've never had two readers.
However, if someone finds a positive that they're unsure of, everyone looks
at it to give their opinion. There is no advantage of making unilateral
decisions if the reader is inexperienced. This is how the reader GETS
experience. Obviously if a student is reading a slide it is rescanned by
another trained technologist.

Our laboratory has gone to Giardia/Cryptosporidium Antigen testing only
unless the patient has chronic diarrhea or a travel history, which must be
supplied by the physician. We have one client who insists on full O&P's but
for the most part we do very few of these any more. We order and cancel the
O&P test with a canned comment - that we have ordered Giardia/Crypto Ag -
and that we will save preserved specimens for three days if they want us to
perform a full O&P exam. Very few physicians have followed up with that
request. We are in Ohio so the most likely parasite in our area is Giardia.

As far as stool cultures, we are now performing Campylobacter detection via
EIA, EC O157:H7 via shigatoxin testing, and C. difficile by PCR. We culture
for Shigella, Salmonella, and Yersinia, and no longer plate for Campy or EC
O157:H7.

Hello every one
I have two basic questions.
1. One technologist was telling that a concentration slide reading can sometimes be enhanced if on top of coverslip you add an oil drop and then look under 100X lens. I do not see it in any SOP. Any one has any experience on that? Any pitfalls, advantages?

2. How many of you have a second reader on each slide in your SOP? Do you rely on one reader only?

Dear All,

Cryptonet (www.cryptonet.ie) is pleased announce a three day practical workshop on molecular techniques and risk assessment focused on surface water contamination by Cryptosporidium spp. from agricultural sources. All are welcome to join at University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin, Ireland from Wednesday 3^rd to Friday 5^th June 2009. The workshop will be hosted by the UCD School of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine, and The Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (DAFF). Participants can choose to join just the one day symposium on molecular methods and risk assessment and, if they wish one of two follow on workshops detailed below.

Contamination of surface water by Cryptosporidium spp.
A workshop on molecular biological techniques and risk assessment

A one day symposium bringing together methodologies in molecular identification of Cryptosporidium spp. and microbial risk assessment will be held on Wednesday June 3^rd 2009.  A combination of international and local speakers will present on key research issues relating to using molecular tools and risk assessment for Cryptosporidium spp. in agricultural catchments.  Attendance at the symposium is welcome without participation in the concurrent practical workshops to be held on June 4^th-5^th 2009.

Workshop 1: Molecular Techniques

A two-day practical workshop on molecular biological techniques: towards the development of standard protocols for the detection and quantification of Cryptosporidium oocysts in various environmental matrices. This session will cover the DNA extraction from complex environmental matrices (soil, slurry and contaminated water) and the detection of Cryptosporidium spp. using real time qPCR techniques. Special attention will be dedicated to statistical analysis of real time PCR data.

Workshop 2: Microbial Risk Assessment

A one-day workshop on risk assessment techniques applied to the study of non point source agricultural pollution. Using a participatory-based approach to teaching and learning, attendees will have the opportunity to use software tools and contribute to in-depth discussions, share experiences, and exchange resources in a variety of thematic topics such as Microbial and Ecological Risk Assessment, Risk Based Site Evaluation, Cryptosporidium Epidemiology. Participants will develop a sound understanding in developing conceptual risk assessment models and semi-quantitative methods in describing microbiological risk.

Extermination:
We've tried RID, Kleen Free Enzymes, and various pesticide sprays. I've sprayed like crazy EVERY day. I even spray my clothing with RID. I wash my hair every night. Yet I'm still seeing this pest. The other victim had a worse case, and she’s pleased with the Kleen Free product. I use it daily, but I haven’t seen any lasting results.

Please pay close attention as I describe the physical attributes and symptoms of this pest. If someone has this pest, they will see 3 types of white things:
1) tiny round things about the size of a spec of salt
2) tiny, oblong shaped, things that look like a piece of thread or fiber; about 1/16 of an inch long
3) slightly larger white things that jump
Either #2 and/or #3 flies; It is an airborne pest.

Optional: Victims may see tiny black things the same as item # 1 and # 2 above.

If someone has this pest, they will have the following physical symptoms:
1) Bites that sting
2) Red skin rashes and/or small red bumps
3) Lighting sensations; Victims will feel something periodically lighting on their skin.
4) Optional: Itching **I don’t itch, but another victim has an itching problem.

Pest Habits:
When hand-picked from hair, clothing, etc., the pest will attack with bites. This tiny white pest can be found anywhere. Once it gets in an environment, it will be all over the place. It likes clothing, hair, and dark colored items. The #1 and #2 white things rest on material and non-material items. ie, a totebag or pocketbook They’ll infest someone’s car, also.

Pest Control---I haven't yet found a pesticide that completely removed the pest and its eggs. Over a period of weeks, constant spraying can yield a reduction in pest population. Due to the fast breeding, the infestation does not go away. This is a relentless pest!

Challenges:
Entomologists have not been able to identify samples sent to them. Therefore, this pest is not an insect. It's either a parasite or arthropod. Presently, I'm trying to find an ectoparasitologist to submit samples to. I need the scientific name for this pest. If you have time to help me do research, that would be helpful.
