<br><br>@blojsomdev is the Twitter stream. It's still a valid stream. Really.
<br><br>"tweets" have fallen quiet, if only because yours truly lost his
<br>iPhone's flash drive. And with that, went Facebook, Twitter, and
<br>constant online presence.
<br><br>Occasionally, I get to the website to post. Not as often as I would, or
<br>should.
<br><br>I'll have a new phone shortly, and then maybe my delirium tremors for
<br>constant presence on the internet may end.
<br><br>* Maven
<br><br>The conversion to a Maven project is complete. It builds cleanly and
<br>runs. Maven provides an IDE agnostic build platform as well as a
<br>convention over configuration packaging.
<br><br>blojsom follows the same build structure, so everything would be
<br>familiar to regular users.
<br><br>If you're a Maven-maven, give it a once over. Diff patches are welcome
<br>where optimizations to the POMs, and advanced mojos are available to
<br>reduce redundant files layouts, etc. I did take some short cuts with the
<br>bootstraping.

<br><br>With the Maven migration a number of libraries were updated. Use groovy?
<br>1.0 is now included (from the beta 0.4). Velocity 1.6.2 is provided,
<br>from 1.3 or 1.4. This gives you access to Lists and Arrays more

My user (yes mainly one user with tons of stuff) will miss the easy way that that template handled creation of new blog entries. <BR>
First of all it was very convenient not to be forced to log into a special admin environment.<BR>
Secondly it took care of new lines by just using the return key - no need for any coding whatsoever.<BR>
But the main problem is that the automatic link creation is gone -and there are thousands of URLs that used to show up as links.<BR>
I could probably write a script to take care of the old links but I know there will be problems to get the user to accept a ore clumsy way to publish blogs.<BR>

Has anybody else gone this path and has some tips and tricks to share?<BR>
Unfortunately my java skills are very limited..<BR>

<br><br>I'm considering the deprecation of the MetaPlugin in the "maven-spike"
<br>(tentatively the 3.5 release).
<br><br>*This is not to say that inline metadata, e.g., "meta-foo=bar", would be
<br>deprecated. Only the MetaPlugin and it's presence on the plugin chain
<br>would be deprecated.*
<br><br>There are two reasons for considering the database going forward
<br><br>1. Current/Future Rich Text Editor (RTE) support is limited
<br><br>Whether the existing TinyMCE or a YUI RTE replacement *inline* metadata
<br>support always presented a problem with the reading and parsing of the
<br>"meta-" keyed values.
<br><br>My experience has been that the RTEs put the keys into HTML elements
<br>that then get displayed in the entries to end users. It also complicated
<br>parsing of the metadata when RTEs formatted the HTML in the editor prior
<br>to committing it on the backend.
<br><br>2. In looking over the code for the
<br>org.blojsom.plugin.admin.EditBlogEntriesPlugin support for adding,
<br>storing and retriving entry metadata in the database is available.
<br><br>There are some hurdles to this deprecation as well:
<br><br>1. Continuing support and migration of exisiting 2.3x and 3.x blojsom
<br>installs using the MetaPlugin needs to be considered first.
<br><br>2. "inline" or entry metadata would be moved to textarea below the main
<br>blog entry field and parsed, stored and retrieved on the backend. In
<br>this format, deletion of keys would have to be handled carefully.
<br><br>3. Supporting plugins that rely on the inline metadata would have to be
<br>refactored.
<br><br>What are the developer's thoughts on this deprecation? Is there another
<br>hurdle? Another reason? Pro or Con?
<br><br>I have started looking at this deprecation very closely in the

</div><br>You should be able to correct in your 3.2 release by selecting
<br>Plugins > Mapping in the Admin interface. Remove "referer-log" from the
<br>HTML flavor list. The "defect" was corrected in the 3.3 code line,
<br>because it was a default setting that should be removed. It doesn't make
<br>sense to correct the code and release it for something that can be fixed
<br>in the admin interface so easily.
<br><br>Regarding memory allocation. This is not an application problem, but a
<br>container problem. I'm running 3 blojsom 2.3x instances on a single VPS
<br>(virtual private server) with a 540 MB of RAM on a Fedora distro.
<br><br>You probably need to constrain your container memory requirements. This
<br>is typically a JVM setting. Setting the memory limits is done by setting
<br>a "CATALINA_OPTS" variable in the running user's profile (windows and
<br>unix do this is different ways).

"Quicker Start" or Quickrstart" using HSQLDB as an in memory

The build allows immediate use of blojsom for "a taste." I want to<br>
extend the HSQLDB work to provide test driven development and with<br>
