BlueErp?Hello everyone. I'm new here and I have a question.
Is pErp related to BlueErp in any way? If yes, how? If not, why duplicate effort? Their site seems to claim they already have their system deployed in some companies so I suppose it's pretty finished and working. Why not integrate efforts? |

BlueERP is based on CK-ERP, a fairly well known PHP ERP. projectERP is a new system very (very) loosely based on webERP. Both intend to provide a better experience through UI and better integration into eGroupWare. So no relation, although we have been known to share ideas back and forth. There are a few things BlueERP has that I wouldn't mind if projectERP could get. Why duplicate? It wasn't intentional. Both projects were started within a month of each other (SF.net registration - projectERP: 2006-05-02, BlueERP: 2006-06-21), but by the time we found out about each other a year later, we were kind of past the point of no return. projectERP is developed mainly by one company for our internal use, so there is considerable pressure by now to keep it. I believe BlueERP is developed mainly by one company and is already offered to their clients, so there is considerable pressure to keep it. There was some discussion about merging for eGroupWare 2.0, but that never happened. By now, the two projects are quite different in aim and method.
