Matt Moog has created a site where Bob and his wife Ileana can share
information about what's going on.

   http://www.caringbridge.com/visit/bobmoog

Please drop a line in the Guestbook to send your thoughts and wishes. And
take a look towards Asheville, NC once-in-a-while and pass a long a good
thought or two.

Bob's strong... He'll make it through this.

Thanks Mark.

I posted a note as well.  It's hard to believe.  Seeing him on film, his
view on life and his approach to musical instruments is just as inspiring as
his instruments themselves.  He confirms it's alright to play however you
like; his focus on creativity and musicality behind his instruments makes it
alright.  This perspective extends beyond playing music and to life itself.
Bob simply makes me want to live and enjoy it.

Such a strange thing...  I can't access the site because it doesn't
allow for foreign postal codes.  =(
I know this is not because of a US-only policy, but it's still disappointing.

That is sad Senso... Considering the need, I'd suggesting picking a US city
and using it's Zip Code:

   http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/citytown_zip.jsp

But, as a note... It looks like the site has gotten a LOT of traffic, and
Matt has had to require that people register first before visiting. That's
kindofa drag, but I think that CaringBridge is on a low-traffic line and I
suspect that Bob's page has gotten hit a lot today.

Wasn't "CaringBridge" the site that was mentioned in Doonesbury when BD
communicated with the folks back home after he lost his leg in the war?
If so, I imagine that a lot of folks connected with people in Iraq are
using it, and would need/have a high speed line.

I could be wrong, but it would be the first time.  :*)

It looks like due to high traffic, they've slapped a password on this site
and I cannot visit.

im thinking about getting one...i saw one for a ridiculous price from a
reputable dealer...other than the fact the i/o is all xlr...are there any
other downsides to this desk?  the upsides for me are the dual swept eq,
meterbridge, and modular design

i also figure, if i dont like the desk, i can sell it on ebay or part it out
and sell it on ebay.

any input is greatly apprciated.

I have a Series 600 and absolutely love it. So warm and the EQ sounds
amazing....I'm imagining the EQ is tha same on both boards. The modular
aspect is great, too.

Yep. Sigh. And I still haven't got a clue what it's all about.
All I can assume is that Bob is seriously ill.

Bob's got a brain tumor.

Sorry to let you know guys, but what they did not write in the text was that
Glioblastoma Miltuforme is bad. Real bad. Do not ask me to write more
because you will not like it.

Sorry again. But let's still hope.

I don't think this site was supposed to be leaked to AH / the public.  It
was for Bob's personal friends.  Maybe this is why it now requires a
password.

I almost didn't post this as I feel it's not really in my place to
speculate, but my brother-in-law is a neurosurgeon and of course I talked to
him about this.  It's bad, but it's important to know it's usually not
physically painful.  That will hopefully be at least one of our prayers
answered.

Hi;

Ummm... I'm in a bit of hot water.

The link I distributed yesterday was NOT to be shared with the world. It
came to me from a couple of different people each time with the implication
that Bob and Ileana were ready to let folks know what was going on.

I was wrong.

We need to curb the conversation on the list, and I need to ask folks to
not gossip about this.

Thanks,

Mark

Can't you folks just respect his wishes and stop posting about this.  Very
simple.  Just stop

The site is back online and open for well wishes.

   http://www.caringbridge.com/visit/bobmoog

As well, Ileana is asking for comments regarding how to get information out
to the masses versus keeping family information private.

It's not clear how she'd like to receive comments, but I would suggest NOT
writing them into the guestbook, and instead writing to Matt who can share
the comments with Ileana.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I don't know how many of you have gone through this type of family upheaval
(cancer). It takes a toll on everyone - they are in a sense all inflicted.
Every day counts , because every day is counted. Be it a good one, or one of
the bad ones - you can't get it back.  In short, this family has more things
to worry about than our well wishes.

I would like to suggest that we respect this SUPREMELY PERSONAL ISSUE that
Moog's are currently dealing with and leave them alone.  Our thoughts are
plenty powerful enough.

Respectfully submitted,

- P

I completely agree. The head of one of the companies I worked for, who
turned into a real friend, suffered his young daughter's death from a brain
tumor.  It was an exhausting, terrible, soul-wringing process for him.  It
may be a little easier for a family surrounding someone who's already led a
full life, but not by much.

So the best we can do is offer them our thoughts, and keep out of their
lives and possibly brief remaining time together, and not complicate the
process for any of them.  If you respect and honor Bob Moog, this is what
you can do for him now.

Steve
