Hi Fabien!

The Bonita team mentioned a while ago in the project forums that they are planning to include BPMN notation support in the next version of the platform, to be released during Q1 of 2010.

However, I am not sure of the version or if their plans have changed.

Hi,

I was looking for an open source BPM suite and found Bonita thanks to Google... The suite seems really good, especially because you can actually monitor the execution of your process (quite unusual for a free BPM suite J), and I have just one question :

Will Bonita support the BPMN notation in the future ? I know that you can already use activity and participant, but I did not find how you can use all the events and gates included in the BPMN 2.0…

Problem using bonita on Informix

Hello, i was able to run the "ant init-db" and the bonita-console on an informix db, but when i tried to deploy the SimpleWebSale.bar the console log show this error:

when i tryed the same using H2 DB everything worked fine.

but it doesn't work with informix

pd. I turn on the hibernate.show_sql and the level=ALL in loggin.properties

I am evaluating the Bonita workflow engine, and need to understand several functionalities. They are related to the parameters of process and activities.

1. Is there a way to change the value for process parameter or activity parameter? If there is, then how.

2. Can the value of parameters (process or activity) be changed by the java code in Hook?

What is your configuration? Is there any stacktrace? do you perform any change in the console configuration?

It seems you have a problem with your db... are you sure that the console folders are writable?

I have already posted a request related to process instance suppression in
bonita 4.0. All i know is that the error appeared sudently and before it was
working fine.

Cancelling a process instance

i have an error when deleting a process instance using this line code :

the nova_xpdl_exec table contains those rows

the bonita "suite" comes with a visual XPDL Editor both desktop and integrated in eclipse.
You can find it at http://forge.ow2.org/project/showfiles.php?group_id=56 with the name:

in bonita-4.1.1 section (the last stable version).
Alternatively you can take a look at
JPEd (http://www.jped.org/), a GPL visual xpdl standalone editor.

Hola Miguel, por el nombre y los dos apellidos intuyo que hablas castellano. ¿es así?.

El caso es que los dos documentos, tanto el CookBook como el QuickStart me los he releído varias veces, si
que existe un capítulo de customización de forms, pero simplemente habla de que uses <customized-view/>,
no dice nada acerca de qué formato tiene que tener el fichero al que apunte este tag ni de cómo le llegan y
se llaman las variables en éste. Creo que sería de gran utilidad aclaratoria un documento que detalle un poco
más o un sitio donde ver un ejemplo de cómo lo hace, ¿sabes si existe algo así?.

Process dynamic modification with Bonita

Hi,

I am starting the use of Bonita for my workflow design and I am
interested in process adaptation at running time. I am womdering about
the feature of "dynamically modifying the definition of a running
process" How it is managed through Bonita? can one replace for instance
a web service of the process by another one having a better Quality of
Service for instance? How the correct communication between the new
service and the hosting process can be ensured? Is there any conformance
testing modules?
Can you provide me with article about dynamic process modifications,
please?

Doubts regarding roles & participants creation

Hi All,

I am a newbee with bonita. I have downloaded the latest version(4.1.1). .

I am able to deploy the WebSale barfile using bonita console.

But i have few doubts about creating roles & participants.

How can we assign roles to the different participants. user can login thru the console & he can excecute any activities regardless of the participant.

Actually as per my requirement i have to use different users for excecuting different lind of activities

ie.

One user will login as Customer & he will raise the request.

Another user will login as agent & he will do the sales review.

Like this i have to Assign Roles for different console users.

The Bonita project team has just released today a maintenance version of the latest 4.1 release. This new version (4.1.1) targets bug fixing and documentation updates and also includes a preview implementation of one of the major features to come: BPM connectors.

Find hereafter the release notes of this version:

- Bonita Connectors
* Generic infrastructure to support connectors integration in Bonita (easy connection with your information system !)
* EmailConnector
* LDAPConnector

- Documentation
* CookBook and QuickStart updates: supported jee application servers versions, link references, connectors chapter, designer updates...

Bug fixing:

- Runtime
* ondelete and save update cascade were added on task candidates to prevent errors under MySQL
* Fix Approval Web App (granted=yes was present twice and granted=no was absent)
* Fix process instance variable access from an activity (returns the latest value before activity ends)

- Designer
* Move Description at process level to make it visible from admin console
* Performer Assignment variable type was removed from generated XPDL

- Console
* Shell scripts are now executable

Bonita 4.1.1 can be downloaded in the Bonita forge.

Nova Bonita (4.1) on Jonas 5.1 Issue

I have created bonita.ear file ( using ant ear.ejb3 ) and tried to deploy the ear file on to Jonas 5.1.
I have got an error inidicating "IllegalStateException metadata is not specfied for the EJB" resulting in a failed deployment.

I was able to deploy the same on JBoss 5.1 but I could not figure out the URLs to access Bonita Console.

Any help with the Error and/or the Bonita URLs to access on Jonas/JBoss is appreciated.
