Booth and Marketing Sprint 2009: LocationHi everybody,
location for the sprint has been set in stone now. The sprint itself takes place at KONSEC GmbH. http://maps.google.de/maps?q=Leitzstrasse+45+Stuttgart A big thank you to Martin Konold who made this possible. Hotel is the Etap Hotel, Stuttgart: http://maps.google.de/?q=Siemensstrasse+28+Stuttgart We have reserved rooms for everybody listed on the TechBase page. The hotel has free wifi, breakfast included. Distance between hotel and sprint location is ~350 metres. Local public transport: There is an underground (U5/U6) that goes from Stuttgart main station to Pragsattel (near the location) in six minutes every five minutes. Again, sounds good, though I'd love a mental upload of images so I know exactly how to walk on the station - I'll feel completely lost otherwise. Darn computers still can't connect to my brain. Thank you Eckhart, Fregl and the others involved for taking care of this! > Eckhart grtz Jos _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list. Re: Booth and Marketing Sprint 2009: Locationwe should come up with some plan for meeting on the thursday night for dinner
for those that will have arrived, maybe someone could suggest a pub near the hotel we could meet up in then go for food? for friday presumably it would make sense for those staying at the hotel to meetup in the breakfast area ready to leave for about 0845 to go to the konsec office and others attending just make their own way to the office and be there a bit before 0900 so we can start sharp at 0900 as Jos suggested? -- Kenny _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list. Good idea, perhaps someone local can make a suggestion? I'll also send my phone number to a few people (not on this public list) in minute to make meeting easier - particularly as we arrive at quite different times. I'll drop off my things at the hotel and then meet you all up at Konsec. If any of the organizers need my mobile number, contact me off-list. _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list. Re: Booth and Marketing Sprint 2009: LocationHi everybody,
some more information regarding public local transport and communication: == Public local transport == In Stuttgart, you pay by zone. The inner city is in zone 10, surrounded by zone 20. * Stuttgart main station is in zone 10 * The hotel is near underground station "Maybachstraße" (zone 20) * The sprint location is near "Maybachstraße" (zone 20) or "Pragsattel" (both zones 10 and 20) Main station to Maybachstraße therefore are two zones, main station to Pragsattel is one zone. Tickets and prices can be found here: http://vvs.de/en/service_firststeps_fahrausweise.php If anyone is interested, I can also try to get some three-day-tickets (cheaper if you plan to use public transport a lot) == Communication == I'll try to be available all the time via mobile, my number can be found at the wiki page. Optionally, you can also tell me your mobile number via private mail. Eckhart _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list. Hi everybody, Thanks! == Public local transport == hmm, depends on how close the meeting location is to food and stuff. If ppl are likely to use public transport for dinner we're probably looking at using it 3-4 times a day. If a day ticket is cheaper, it might be a good idea.
== Communication == Ooh, private mail, sounds sexy... cheers, Jos _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list. Visit https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-promo to unsubscribe, set digest on or temporarily stop your subscription. |

(I didn't find that info on the website). If it's more than EUR 1 and we use transport 3-4 times daily as Jos suggests then the three day ticket is probably worthwhile (and more convenient). The three day ticket is cheaper than two day tickets too... Stu _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list. I can try to organize some of the 3-day-tickets (you cannot buy them at a ticket machine), however, I really need to know in advance how many are needed. Oh, and there's the 4x Ticket, which is slightly cheaper than 4 single tickets. Valerie _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list. Since I'm home alone with the kid, I won't be able to make it Thursday night. However, if anyone is bored and wants to meet for a cup of coffee in the afternoon, just drop me a line. I don't really know about very much near the hotel, I think the Theaterhaus used to have a restaurant with decent food (don't know about the prices, though) - and there's lots of places to go in downtown Stuttgart, near main station. I already asked them, they don't sell those tickets. I'd therefore have to organize the tickets via the i-Point next to main station. Re: Booth and Marketing Sprint 2009: LocationQuestion to anyone who is local,
What do you think about Jos's question about the food/transit situation? Are there any good places in walking distance or do you expect we'd need to be using public transit each day to get to dinner? If we will regularly need the train then count me in for this 3 day pass thing. If you expect we can just walk to most everything we need for the weekend then I guess it's probably better to just get 2 individual tickets to get to/from the airport.

Re: Booth and Marketing Sprint 2009: LocationHi everybody,
Frank just reminded me that I should send that information via mail as well (it's already on techbase): For those arriving on thursday, we want to meet at 19:00 at the Etap hotel for food/drinks/social stuff. The hotel has a list of the attendees, so just check in with your name and mention KDE. Eckhart _______________________________________________ This message is from the kde-promo mailing list.
