Bought a used YS828 wondering what year it is?

Bought a used YS828 at a yard sale.  It is in almost new condition.  Called Yamaha with the serial number (7KF-960593) looking for a owners manual.  They told me it was made in 1989.  Can't believe that.  For example all the rubber is still soft.  Anyone have any idea?  Thanks.
