Hello fellow listers,

I am wondering if anyone monitoring this list is a former Sir Sanford Fleming, GIS Application Specialist graduate who would have taken Bruce Petit's course. In it he covered the evolution of the surveying of Ontario's roads and lots as the province was opened up. It was a fascinating treatise on everything from why the lots are different dimensions in different parts of the province, to why many roads have unexpected jogs in them.

I have occasion now to add a lecture on surveying to my GIS course but cannot find my class notes (from 2001/2002) and would really like to incorporate some of that stuff.  If you still have your notes, or even can point me the right direction for some of this info (especially if you are not one of my fellow alumni), I'd greatly appreciate knowing about it.

Thanks
Rick Gray
