Firebug hangs when clicking the Net tab.

Closing and restarting Firebug does not fix it.

Closing and restarting Firefox does fix it.

1) Firebug Icon Menu (Upper left) > Options > reset all options.
or
2) Install Firebug in a new Firefox profile.  See

Thanks for the reply.  I realized I'd misreported the hang as
resulting from the Net tab when it was actually the Dom tab.

I will try the solution you've suggested.
