Bugs in Sun Connector for Mysql

Hello,

I just installed the sun connector for Mysql (final Version 1.0.0) and
discovered some Bugs, some of which are quite annoying:

1. Some Options can not be selected in OO Base such as signed/unsigned
with Integer Data Types. This has to be selected with Mysql Administrator.
2. The relationship window doesn't work right. Some relations are
"hidden" e.g. not shown even though they exist in  MySQL. Interestingly
when relationships are created in Base they seem to be created in MySQL
but are then not shown in Base. This seems to be when one Table has
several different relationships .
3. The relationship window is not updated when changes in the tables are
made e.g. fields are deleted or created or primary keys defined.

Would be nice if this could be fixed.

Regards Rudolf

Hi Rudolf,

sorry for the delay in my response, too many stuff on my desk recently :\

That's true, in this first version, we didn't add any MySQL specific
features to OOo, which means that the table designer is still not able
to handle such backend-specific details. Care to submit an RFE in
IssueZilla?

Hmm, cannot reproduce here. Which server version do you connect to?
Would it be possible that you provide a (stripped) mysqldump of the
tables (structure only) whose relationships are not shown?

Again, that's an issue of OOo itself, not of the connector, this appears
no matter which back-end you work with. You might want to submit an
issue for this, too (to my knowledge we don't have one, yet). Honestly,
it would probably have a relative low priority, since (IMO) updating the
underlying table structures while displaying the relation designer is a
relatively rare use case in OOo. This doesn't mean it would never get
fixed, it just means it might not be in the very next version.

Thanks & Ciao
Frank
