I know this is in the archives but cannot see how I can add to the
post - sorry.

I have kernel version : 2.6.9-34.0.1.EL

I have Xorg 6.8+:
xorg-x11-6.8.2-1.EL.13.25
xorg-x11-tools-6.8.2-1.EL.13.25
xorg-x11-devel-6.8.2-1.EL.13.25
xorg-x11-libs-6.8.2-1.EL.13.25
xorg-x11-font-utils-6.8.2-1.EL.13.25
xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.2-1.EL.13.25
xorg-x11-xdm-6.8.2-1.EL.13.25

But I dont have xorg-x11-server package or xorg-*src.rpm as it's a
distributed redhat release from Autodesk which does not include source
CD's.

The full output of ./configure is:

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `xorg-server.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'xorg-server' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables XORG_CFLAGS
and XORG_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

I currently have 0.8.3-5, but it's keeps on "going to sleep" and is
"jittery" causing problems with fine work.

Regards

Chris

Re: Building 0.8.4-2 on RHEL 4.3 without xorg server install

Chris,

This issue has been reported for RHEL 4.4 before. I have made a new configure file just for building the driver on RHEL4.4 (I think it should work on 4.3 too).  However, I'd like to learn more from you so I may be able to fix it for all.

1.   How did you install linuxwacom-0.8.3-5?  What were the steps you used?  Did you update the kernel driver?

2.   When you say it keeps going sleep, do you mean the screen goes to sleep mode (if you use a Cintiq 21UX) or the tablet doesn't react any more?

3.   What kind of jittering issue do you have? Does it help if you move the tablet a bit away from the monitor (or another monitor if you use Cintiq in a dual display setup). There is no change in reducing jitter between 0.8.3-5 and 0.8.4-2.
