The UN ISDR Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction (Geneva, June 16-19)

clearly showed the urgency of supporting decision-making and action for

Risk Management in all phases of the disaster cycle.

This Berlin workshop inside the framework  of the EnviroInfo 2009 Conference

(23rd International Conference on Informatics for Environmental Protection)

gives a unique opportunity to share experience, meet experts, discuss

projects and new digital methodologies, and indicate on current new trends

on decision making, and will also focus on deficits in this important

field of information science applied in situations of environmental

and basic humanitarian needs.

The panel discussion in the end of the first day of this workshop

will directly contribute to CODATA strategic recommendations to the

International Council for Science (ICSU).
