It is CAREA and not CNAREA. This is one of the contact outputs.
BTW - the CFN would be zero for your case because it is a vector
summation. Easier way to obtain this force is split the contact into two
halves (partition in ideas) and request CFN individually. Then add them
(ofcourse with out sign).

Subject: [Abaqus] CPRESS & CNAREA
Hi all,
I am working on a simple Interference Fit analysis between two hollow
cylinder. I need to calcualte the push off force for these hollow
cylinders, but in .dat file the CFN value reported is very near to zero.
One of my friend suggested to calculate Contact forces normals from
CPRESS and CNAREA. I wanted to know what is CNAREA and how to extract
the same.
I am using Abauqs 6.9 for solving and Ideas for Pre and Post processing.
Is there any other method to get Contact forces apart from .dat file
(CFN & CAREA).
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Haridevi
