CPS 3.4.9 in 10 days, 3.5.0 & MercurialHello everyone,
Summary : CPS 3.4.9 will be released in ten days and needs your feedback, CPS 3.5.0 will come ASAP afterwards, and then, we'll switch to Mercurial. CPS 3.4.9 ---------------- We are planning a release of the 3.4 (stable) branch of CPS on November, the 10th. You can track the currently closed tickets for 3.4.9 there: http://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/report/21 Please note that quite a few of the issues that are currently scheduled for 3.4.9 have been fixed in the trunk but haven't been backported to the 3.4 branch yet. We'll start reviewing them and merging some next tuesday (the 3rd). Among these changes to backport, those that we'll consider not to be tested enough or too time-costly to merge will probably be rescheduled for 3.4.10. Please, take a look at them (see below) and don't hesitate to provide feedback if you have special interest in some issue, as we *might* make a special effort for the most wanted fixes. You are also very much encouraged to test the current status of the 3.4 branch. It is available as a Subversion checkout at the following URL: http://svn.nuxeo.org/pub/CPS3/bundles/CPS-3-full/branches/CPS-3.4 You can get the list of active tickets for 3.4.9 there: http://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/report/14 While all of those related to the 3.4 branch are here: https://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/report/23 From now on, only release blockers will be accepted as new tickets for 3.4.9. CPS 3.5.0 ---------------- CPS 3.5.0 will be released after 3.4.9 and before 3.4.10. It gathers the many improvements made these last months that aren't suited for the stable branch. There are currently a couple of blocker issues that need to be fixed and we'll adress them shortly after the 3.4.9 release. The list of closed tickets for 3.5.0 is available here: https://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/report/24 While active tickets are here: https://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/report/15 The 3.5.0 release will provide a clean working base for the major upcoming changes in CPS, notably full unicode support, on which we'll work right after the... Switch to Mercurial -------------------------------- Once the 3.4.9 and 3.5.0 releases are ready, we'll migrate the CPS code base from Subversion (svn) to Mercurial (hg). This will provide the usual benefits of DVCS: better scalability, better tracking of off-line work, (almost) builtin support for client-dedicated branches. The Subversion repository will be frozen right after 3.5.0 is out. Re: CPS 3.4.9 in 10 days, 3.5.0 & MercurialHello everybody,
CPS 3.4.9 has been tagged as planned last tuesday (november the 10th). I just finished updating the download site. http://www.cps-project.org/sections/downloads This is a maintenance release, thus containing only bug fixes and fully compatible improvements. This release is based on the feedback from the Nuxeo support customers and the feedback from the contributors. A complete listing of all the changes is available: http://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/query?status=closed&milestone=CPS+3.4.9 In my mind, the most interesting fixes for production sites are #1987, #1988 that seriously improve the error logging. For those using CPSTramline, most recent improvements have found their way to this release (notably the symbolic links of #1966) We will now proceed with the upcoming 3.5.0 and then, the switch to Mercurial. -- Georges Racinet, http://www.racinet.fr Zope/CPS/Plone expertise, assistance & development GPG: 0x4862FFF7 _______________________________________________ cps-users mailing list cps-users@... http://lists.nuxeo.com/mailman/listinfo/cps-users |
