California dvd midi 138ka - region locked!

Hi!

I hope someone can help me. I purchased this California dvd midi 138ka karaoke player in vietnam and I brought it to europe. The problem is that it is region set and it doesnt want to play other redion DVDs except region 1 i think. Most DVD show "wrong region".

I searched almost everything but I cant find any info how to unlock it or set other region. For example there are sites like this:

But California electronics is not listed there. In fact this California electronics is NOWHERE to be found on internet. Does this company even exist? Did they change name? Or is this just rebranded other hardware from other company?

Anyway, does anyone know how to make this California DVD midi karaoke player region free or at least change region?

Mike,
I did see your post. But I have no idea. Maybe it's just because I'm living in the "California" region  :-)
Also, whenever I've trouble with a disk I would try with another player.

My advice, keep the player for karaoke only and spend few $ on a second player for movie (they cost almost as much as a movie), see also:

thanks HTH! I alredy have another DVD/divx player - i though i could get rid of one that way since this california karaoke player also plays divx..
