Calling COM Control from Plugin?

Hi Knowledgeable Ones

I think I'm going to need to call a COM control from a plugin. The COM
control also has a UI (if I've interpreted the docs correctly). Is
there any possibility of displaying the UI from the COM control in a
plugin area within a 4D window? Also, what's the best way to drive the
control from a plugin?

Looking for the basics here because although I've done plugins before
I've never done COM and I've never successfully done a plugin area.
