Can I say "I told you so"
"It will never happen in the air we have out here", . It happened just like I said it would a year ago, didn't it Ricky?

Re: Can I say "I told you so"
You were right.....I was wrong! We have more broke blower/turbo cars than nitrous cars because they are willing step up their sh.....t! The nitrous guys want 100 pass motors....and what few nitrous motors I've seen popped was not because of the amount of nitrous.....its because they are not tuned right!!!!

Re: Can I say "I told you so"
Congratulations to Mike R. and Ramon M. for their wins. You both did a great job. All of our racers did good and my hat is off to each one. We definately will go back to Sat. qualifying and finish our races sooner. I know you were all worn out..........but a great big thanks for everyone helping out at the scales and staging lanes!! RD

Re: Can I say "I told you so"
So why should a nitrous guy have to "burn" his motor up to prove his combination cannot make enough power to be competitive? I have been racing awhile and I have never got on any message board and said rules were unfair but IMO WTTT5 really needs to look at the rules and try to do something to keep some parity between blower/procharged cars and nitrous cars.
Other than me and unc how many nitrous cars have even been 5.30's in WTTT5 trim? What 1 or 2 others? Maybe? And there is now a procharged car in the low 5.1X's..... a full 2 tenths of a second faster than the fastest nitrous cars..... That should really tell ya something.
And that "procharged" car has more in it, it slowed down 3 mph on the 5.13 pass. It definately has a 5.0 in it IMO..... You can not STUFF enough nitrous down a conventional headed big block to make it run 5.0's at 3500 pounds.
Again this is just my opinion of what will help WTTT5 continue to grow....

Re: Can I say "I told you so"
Michael, I do not want to turn this deal into a pissin contest. Since the day our rules were put in place and every change we have made since, they have been voted on by our members and always made sure that it was a majority vote. At present we have one car running these numbers and they are now pulling the motor out. Nathan may have hurt his motor again and we could not get ours ready because we hurt our motor. We had 4 turbo cars at this race and Tony ran a 5.38 and Tommy ran I believe a 5.41 or 5.42. We know they have more in them and our roots blower cars probably have more in them as well. Next year with Jon Wrights bbc blower and John Stevens sbc blower we will have approx. 10 blower/turbo cars running and possibly 12 by year end. Chris McIntosh has ran 3 or 4... 5.34-5.35 passes and you guys as well. We have only had 3 other big block cars. At the moment I definately think the blower/turbo cars have an advantage and this is why we gave the small weight breaks that we gave. Again this was voted on by the organization. We must remember that across the country we have nitrous cars getting the job done. Bob Curran (bobcurranracing.com) in extreme street (NMCA) has run 5.27, 135mph, 1.24 60 ft, with a 400 sbc(23 DEGREE HEAD) nitrous, 1 gun @3250# . The same race or the race before a 525ci bbc @ 3465# ran 5.12 @ 140mph, single carb, 1 gun, and no wheelie bars. I am not saying that we have a nitrous car at our weights that can run a 5.13, but I feel that someone around the country could show up and run 5.20 something and make a race out of it and not hurt their motor. I have pumped as much nitrous through these engines as anyone and I know what you can get away with, but its not just all nitrous!!!! Our rules are set for the year and I am sure as time goes on this thing will come around where its fair. Unc and I have had this conversation and I know where you are coming from, but I do not call the shots and since we started this organization, we have always said that everything will be voted on by paid members so no one person has all the say so. I am sure that at some point there will be parity. We have to remember that the 1st two years the nitrous cars ran off with all the money and everything was great. Hang loose....and everything will work out. I think Brad and I need a six-banger !!!!!! Just Kidding! RD

This is just like when tim lynch was in the 4.30s and everyone else was in the 50's.This is the beauty of heads up drag racing theres always going to be someone that whines "not saying u r" but theres always going to be someone quicker and everyone is a few couple of tenths behind but sooner or later are going to catch up and be the top dawg.Im with RD on this just give it time

Re: Can I say "I told you so"
Was not at the last race but from what I was told plenty of cars can make the power when they get their stuff together.
