The MCF528x is actually the *only* ColdFire microcontroller that has 5V
tolerant inputs.
See the 'Absolute Maximum Ratings' table in the electricals - symbol
VIN. The footnote discusses limiting of current.

Subject: [ColdFire] Can a 3.3v input handle 5v?
I am having difficulty finding out if a 3.3v input can handle 5v on a
MCF5282 DMA Timer pin used as an input?
Would there be clipping diodes? If so, then one would need some
protection resistors to limit current input?
Thanks,
Bob Furber
