Cannot start the xuudb server of the unicore quickstart bundle on scientific linuxHello list,
I have problems to start the xuudb server of the unicore quickstart bundle. The error message ist: [snip] 2009-09-18 12:03:53.599::WARN: failed MySslSocketConnector@...:55563 java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketBind(Native Method) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.bind(PlainSocketImpl.java:359) [snip] I don't understand this message because the socket 55563 is free; at least netstat doesn't say anything about such a port. I have also changed the port to 34463, this leads to the same result. The full logfile is attached. What might be the cause of this problems? What informations do you still need? Re: Cannot start the xuudb server of the unicore quickstart bundle on scientific linuxhi,
this looks like a DNS problem. Is the address "damiana.aei.mpg.de" visible on the server? On the server you should be able to do nslookup damiana.aei.mpg.de and get a reasonable answer.
