BEDFORD/SOMERSET COUNTIES:
Allegheny Front Hawk Watch reported counting 31 TURKEY VULTURES, 1 OSPREY, 2 BALD EAGLE, 2 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 68 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 19 COOPER'S HAWKS, 1 NORTHERN GOSHAWK, 3 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, 250 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 19 GOLDEN EAGLES, 1 AMERICAN KESTREL, 2 MERLINS and 1 PEREGRINE FALCON between October 22 and 28 (GF, NF, BSt, JR, TD, EH, BG, TBa, RMc).
 
CARBON COUNTY:
There was 1 AMERICAN BITTERN and 1 SURF SCOTER at Beltsville Reservoir on October 23 (DH). Between October 24 and 26 there were 52 BRANT, 5 SURF SCOTERS, 9 BLACK SCOTERS and 1 DUNLIN (DWel, TW, DA). A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was observed in Beltsville State Park on October 27 (ML).
 
CENTRE COUNTY:
An immature BALTIMORE ORIOLE visited a hummingbird feeder in Howard on October 22 (BSn).
 
Jo Hayes Vista produced 1 SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, 1 COOPER'S HAWK and 6 RED-TAILED HAWKS on October 25 (NBu).
 
CUMBERLAND COUNTY:
Waggoner's Gap Hawk Watch counted 2 BLACK VULTURES, 87 TURKEY VULTURES, 1 OSPREY, 11 BALD EAGLES, 24 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 297 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 38 COOPER'S HAWKS, 30 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, 259 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 9 GOLDEN EAGLES, 7 AMERICAN KETRELS, 1 MERLIN and 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS between October 22 and 26 (RF, DG, CH, GW).
 
The BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER continues to be seen along the Big Spring just south of Newville through at least October 25 (MS, TSm, DY, BK, MHe, TS, DBo, VG, DC, AS, RWi, DA, AM, MS). Location: From the south take exit 37 off of I-81 and head north on route 233 for 1 mile. Turn left at the traffic light onto Route 11 (Ritner Highway). There have been no reports of the bird being seen after October 25. Go 3 miles and turn right onto Big Spring Road. Go approximately 3.5 miles up the Big Spring Road until you get to a gravel Fish and Boat parking lot on the left. Park in the lot and walk back down Big Spring road to a spot where there is a field owned by Green Ridge Village Retirement Community on the left and a brushy area along the right. The warbler was seen in the brushy area (VG).
 
DAUPHIN COUNTY:
There were 14 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS along the south end of the towpath at Wildwood Lake in northern Harrisburg on October 22 (JRe) and over 30 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were there on October 25 (LU).
 
FRANKLIN COUNTY:
Tuscarora Summit Hawk Watch reported counting 30 TURKEY VULTURES, 4 OSPREY, 4 BALD EAGLE, 5 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 52 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 6 COOPER'S HAWKS, 2 NORTHERN GOSHAWKS, 1 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, 60 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 3 GOLDEN EAGLES and 1 AMERICAN KESTRELS between October 22 and 26 (DGe).
 
There were 1 MERLIN, some YELLOWLEGS, 1 STILT SANDPIPER and 1 DUNLIN at the ponds along Krider Road near Chambersburg between October 24 and 25 (AL).
 
HUNTINGDON/MIFFLIN COUNTIES:
Stone Mountain Hawk Watch reported tabulating 16 TURKEY VULTURES, 2 OSPREYS, 3 BALD EAGLES, 4 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 14 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 6 COOPER'S HAWKS, 4 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, 32 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 8 GOLDEN EAGLES, 1 AMERICAN KESTREL and 1 MERLIN between October 22 and 25 (DB, GG, DWe, JB, TK, NBo).
 
LANCASTER COUNTY:
A MERLIN was seen on October 22 at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area (TS).
 
An immature female RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was banded at a home in East Earl Township on October 22 (SW).
 
Conejohela Flats produced 1 BRANT, 1 immature and 2 adult BALD EAGLES, 1 MERLIN, 6 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 12 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 2 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 5 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 1 PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 23 DUNLINS, 7 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 1 COMMON TERN and 7 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS between October 23 and 25 (DBo, BS, CC).
 
The area between Wrightsville and Conejohela Flats yielded 1 RED-THROATED LOON, 2 COMMON TERNS and 1 FORSTSER'S TERN on October 25 (CC).
 
There was 1 CACKLING GOOSE among the CANADA GEESE at the quarry near the Juvenile Detention Center off of Chesapeake Street on October 26 (CC).
 
LEBANON COUNTY:
Second Mountain Hawk Watch counted 3 BLACK VULTURES, 45 TURKEY VULTURES, 4 BALD EAGLES, 3 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 91 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 27 COOPER'S HAWKS, 2 NORTHERN GOSHAWKS, 14 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, 87 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 3 GOLDEN EAGLES and 1 PEREGRINE FALCONS between October 22 and 26 (DS, RB, MC, JC, SC, RP, FW).
 
The SANDHILL CRANE continues to be seen at Lake Duffy in State Game Lands 145 through at least October 24 (RM).
 
LUZERNE COUNTY:
The previously reported juvenile WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER continued to be seen at Plymouth Flats through at least October 23 (KR). There also were 8 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 12 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS present on October 23 (KR).
 
There were 80 BRANT at Harvey's Lake on October 28 (KR).
 
MIFFLIN COUNTY:
Jacks Mountain Hawk Watch reported counting 1 BALD EAGLE, 5 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 88 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 3 COOPER'S HAWKS, 1 RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, 59 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 4 GOLDEN EAGLES and 2 AMERICAN KESTRELS between October 22 and 27 (LW, RS, GB, DSm).
 
SCHUYKILL COUNTY:
The Blue Mountain Route 183 Hawk Watch counted 3 BLACK VULTURES, 6 TURKEY VULTURES, 1 OSPREY, 1 NORTHERN HARRIER, 19 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 7 COOPER'S HAWKS, 1 RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, 10 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 3 GOLDEN EAGLES, 1 MERLIN and 1 PEREGRINE FALCON between October 22 and 25 (SF, JHoo).
 
SCHUYKILL/BERKS COUNTIES:
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary reported tabulating 7 BLACK VULTURES, 57 TURKEY VULTURES, 3 OSPREY, 7 BALD EAGLES, 7 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 122 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, 21 COOPER'S HAWKS, 2 NORTHERN GOSHAWKS, 9 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, 103 RED-TAILED HAWKS, 8 GOLDEN EAGLES, 4 AMERICAN KESTRELS and 7 MERLINS between October 22 and 27 (LG).
 
SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY:
There was a late report of a GOLDEN EAGLE flying over Middletown Township on October 18 (RBl).
 
YORK COUNTY:
Rocky Ridge Hawk Watch reported counting 8 SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS and 1 AMERICAN KESTREL on October 24 (PK).
