Welcome to Pennsylvania Audubon's and the Patriot-News' Birdline. This
Birdline covers sightings made primarily during the week prior to
Thursday, July 9, 2009.

CENTRE COUNTY:
A BLUE GROSBEAK continues to be seen through July 5 just east on Pancake
Road in former strip mine land a few miles north of Snow Shoe (JD).

A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was found in Governor's Park in Bellefonte on
July 5 (BB, DB).

DAUPHIN COUNTY:
A pair of MISSISSIPPI KITES was seen flying over the Susquehanna River
west of Three Mile Island on July 4 (DC).

A canoe trip down Swatara Creek on July 5 located 1 YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT
HERON near Hummel Park (DH).

LANCASTER COUNTY:
An immature BLUE GROSBEAK was observed at Middle Creek Wildlife
Management Area on July 4 (BC).

LUZERNE COUNTY:
There were 3 PEREGRINE FALCONS along the new River Common in
Wilkes-Barre on July 7 (KR).

A MERLIN was seen in Plymouth on July 7 (KR).

YORK COUNTY:
A BLUE GROSBEAK was found on Brunner's Island on July 1 (LC).
