Change Podcast Directory?Folks, I just installed Banshee 1.0 and I like it, but I'm wondering if it's possible to move the default Podcasts directory?
I ask because I'd rather not have it in /home as I do auto-backups of /home many times a day and would rather have the podcasts on the same, un-backed-up external drive that my Music, Pictures, etc. are located. I did try looking through gconf-editor but I couldn't find a key for this option. Is this possible? |

Re: Change Podcast Directory? It looks like the Podcast directory is placed in a sub-directory named Podcasts in the Music directory by default. I didn't look too in depth but seems like the magic happens on or around line 80 here http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/banshee/trunk/banshee/src/Extensions/Banshee.Podcasting/Banshee.Podcasting/PodcastService.cs?view=annotate. Is there a way to link directly to a line in the repository?

Re: Change Podcast Directory?I like this idea a lot. Would this make sense? 1. In the Tools/Preferences tab add an additional dialog tab for "Files" 2. Allow the user to configure paths for... a. Music b. Podcasts c. Movies/Video podcasts d. Coverart 3. The default would be to have them cascaded under the Music folder. 4. We could even consider a "Backup..." button? Steve. Huh...it wasn't on mine. I have my Music on /scratch/$USER/Music, but Podcasts showed up in /home/$USER/Podcasts. Could this be cruft from my pre-1.0 banshee days mucking around with gconf or .config? Re: Change Podcast Directory?Personally, I'd split out video podcasts and movies - podcasts are by
nature a lot more dynamic... Just waiting for that podcast sync bug to get fixed so I can finally use banshee daily... > I like this idea a lot. Would this make sense? > > 1. I like this idea a lot. Would this make sense? I think it sounds like a great idea. Could you possibly create a bug on Bugzilla? (If not, I always could.) _______________________________________________ Banshee-list mailing list Banshee-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/banshee-list |
