Change the subject of email notification

Dear All,

We have a request to change the subject of an email notification to let users know

which emails are of their concerns since there are too many notifications.

I would like that the subject be input by the user in certain text field.

Or the subject may include the type description or certain string/long string field of a module.

Can anyone tell me which file I should modify if I want to change the subject of an email notification.
