Hello list,
Given our current daisy setup, we have a need for image and attachment doctypes that would also have a field (non-mandatory). These custom image and attachment doctypes would be otherwise identical to the ones built into daisy (they would actually replace them). I seem to have 2 options for implementing those:
1. Create new doctypes
2. Modify the daisy built-in doctypes (which is apparently not recommended)
My main issue is that we would need to be able to upload new images and attachments from the wiki editor, as is currently possible with the daisy built-in doctypes. Going with new, custom doctypes would thus create a requirement to modify the editor to use the new doctypes (which has its own drawback). On the other hand, looks like I will have to customize some things in the wiki editor anyway since I will need (ideally) to populate the field somehow.
Any advice on how best to tackle this problem? I am trying to find the best compromise between changing daisyhome (which makes future updates a little more complex) or changing the default repo schema (which also could make future updates more complex)…
Thanks,
Étienne
