It is with great excitement that I report to you the progress of the upcoming international hunger strike for climate action: Climate Justice Fast!
In the last month, the international response to CJF has been inspiring and overwhelming. There are now over 50 people from 11 different countries world wide preparing to fast, for periods ranging from a few days to 45 and beyond, from the 2nd of November, to coincide with the UN climate talks in Barcelona, until at least the end of Copenhagen climate conference, on the 19th of December. Some of these fasters will even be inside the Copenhagen conference itself.
We are offering the strongest form of moral protest against climate inaction, and standing up for true climate justice. We call on both the global public and their political representatives to fulfil their moral responsibility to undertake every action possible to halt and reverse climate change, and to protect the world’s most vulnerable people from its effects.
The participants of CJF will show the world that climate change is not just another issue, but is an unprecedented emergency, which calls for unprecedented action. We will symbolize the passion and commitment of the global climate movement, a movement destined to become the greatest social movement the world has ever known, and destined to succeed.

So please, don’t hesitate to become a part of CJF. Past generations did not know about climate change, and future generations will be too late to stop it. It’s up to us.
