Clipart

Hi everyone,
Since the issue of Clipart is still very current Bernard contacted me
last week about a message I sent in 2007 regarding a number of Clipart
I have made. Back then I was looking or instructions on how to package
them as extensions.

Following that message I told Bernard i would revisit, retouch and
package those cliparts as extension. I have chosen to make them into
small individual extension containing only a gallery rather then
creating a larger download file.

I would appreciate if a few people can test the first one before I
package the other.

There seems to be a bug in 3.2DEV (300 m56 at least). When adding
pictures to a gallery the thumbnail it creates is very small. So small
that you almost can't see it. is anyone else seeing this or I should
file a bug report.

Also the current method of importing file into a gallery is not very
convenient if you have a large number of files. Does anyone have any
hints about doing this. Using the file tab in the gallery only like
the files to the one on your drive. There show but an option to
"upload" to a gallery directly from a folder rathe then having to
insert it in a documnet and then moving it to the gallery.

Thanks,
Seb.

Can't upload my art for Orvieto template

Trying to upload my .odg art at
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Art/Gallery/ImpressTemplates but it
won't let me. Mosttimes it just doesn't get to the link. One time it did and
said that my file for uploading was corrupt or wrong extension.

Please send the file as attachment to my personal mail address, I'll try to upload it.

I got the "corrupt/wrong extension" message for an extension I just renamed from .zip.
But in this case it seems to be different.

If I can't upload it too, I'll report the problem to the wiki maintainers at dev@....

Best regards

Bernhard

PS: I'll not be able to upload the file until tomorrow morning (I'm at work now).

I had the same problem with m55 IIRC, so I create my gallery themes with the official Ubuntu distribution.
I reported the problem at dev@..., but didn't get an answer.

So please  file a bug report - I'll comment it.

I've been told that this is the only way at the moment.
But Gallery is about to be reworked thoroughly - this will be a point for improvement.

... I just doubt that anybody will be interested in bug hunting for the present version :-(

Best regards

Bernhard

It worked with the file John sent me:

Thanks for your work - the one you did in the past and the packaging
done now.

I totally agree. Small files are easier to be downloaded for the users.

It is really good - and works. The only idea to optimize it:

What do you think of including an icon in the package (replace my
icon.png by your own one), that shows up in the extension manager?

And thank you for integrating the thumbnails in the Clipart gallery!

... just one additional comment:

The license agreement reads GPL, on the wiki LGPL is mentioned.

The extensions website seems not to be reachable from my computer at the
moment. But as I have lots of problems with my Internet connection
today, the reason might be at this end of the line...

Best regards

Bernhard
