Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically serverI like to cluster CF 8.0 on two physically server run Reg Hat Enterprise. This two server share a single lun on our emc storage system,.. Can this by done? Re: Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically server> We currently do not have a load balancer piece of hardware for this > project and was hoping within CF Enterprise this can be accomplished.. > > Do you have any white paper on how this can be done? I don't know about any current white papers, but CF clustering is described within the documentation, which is all available from livedocs.adobe.com. Do you plan to have web server clustering also? CF doesn't provide any functionality for that. All CF does by itself is application server clustering. RE: Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically serverI have found that a CF cluster works on a single server ( so you could have two clusters of 3 instances ) Each cluster can balance its own load (but you still need to somehow split it between them) > Date: Thu, 30 Apr 2009 15:55:40 -0400 > Subject: Re: Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically server > From: dwatts@... > To: cf-server@... > > > > We currently do not have a load balancer piece of hardware for this > > project and was hoping within CF Enterprise this can be accomplished.. > > > > Do you have any white paper on how this can be done? > > I don't know about any current white papers, but CF clustering is > described within the documentation, which is all available from > livedocs.adobe.com. > > Do you plan to have web server clustering also? RE: Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically serverSo I am told, but I have been unable to get it to work. Actually thats why I joined this list. Can you point me to a good howto? Re: Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically serverYou can use a reverse proxy on one of the boxes or on a new box to provide webserver load balancing. mxAjax / CFAjax docs and other useful articles: http://www.bifrost.com.au/blog/ 2009/5/1 Ed McCall <emccall@...>: > > Thanks for the quick response. > > We currently do not have a load balancer piece of hardware for this > project and was hoping within CF Enterprise this can be accomplished.. > > Do you have any white paper on how this can be done? > > -----Original Message----- > From: Dave Watts [mailto:dwatts@...] > Sent: Thursday, April 30, 2009 2:35 PM > To: cf-server > Subject: Re: Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically server > > >> I like to cluster CF 8.0 on two physically server run Reg Hat >> Enterprise. Re: Clustering CF8.0 and 2 physically serverThe CF8 docs contain all the necessary info. Problems usually result from trying to cluster machines on different subnets or if something else is preventing multicast from working. mxAjax / CFAjax docs and other useful articles: http://www.bifrost.com.au/blog/ 2009/5/1 Mark Ireland <markincuba@...>: > > So I am told, but I have been unable to get it to work. Not offhand, beyond the documentation. What kind of problem are you having, exactly? You need to make sure that you're not blocking JNDI traffic between the cluster members, as this is what they use to communicate. Most likely the consequences of your choices are most felt in OS, Apache and DB configuration. Why don't you architect your solution based on those first, then we will help you integrate CF into that.
