I checked the list of startup items and it isn't listed however it still runs on startup. I'm not sure which folder you are referring to when you mentioned "Startup folder".

I'm using os x.

you can un check your start up items, or remove the CF folder from your start -up folder.

startup. I would now like to change this so it doesn't launch on

Hi,
Well I ran into more issues again, I had to wipe out everything and
install Snow Leopard from scratch(as you would on a new machine), as I
really screwed up the permissions.
All is great with the machine, but when I tried to run the installer
for CF 8 64 bit, I got the error saying that I was not on a 64 bit
machine, after some headaches I tried to ColdFusion 9 64 bit beta
installer and it installed great, and starts up on system init. I
could not be happier`-`

The only weird thing is that I install the 64 bit of MySQL but it says
that it is the 32 bit version in the preference plane. Strange maybe
but it works with ColdFusion so that is cool, just strange.

Hi Ray,
Yeah today will be the third re install to try to get Snow Leopard
working with all the adobe programs.
Seems like a lot of people have had a much easier time getting Snow
Leopard working. If today does not work well I will just go back to
Leopard.

Weird - I didn't have to download anything. The only thing that broke
for me was the symlink, or the path, or somehting like that. I fixed
that and MySQL ran just fine.

I went through all of this, and still will not work. I deleted all MySQL and I guess I will have to figure out how to compile mysql!
I don't get it Leopard was easy! Download install the package, install the start up script, and no worries, I was up and running in about 10 minutes.

I have been trying to figure this out since yesterday.

I would get rid of MySQL all together, but I did a db server for ColdFusion that also work on my host.
This has turned into a nightmare.

Thanks so much for all your help, I really appreciated it very much. I have never been so stressed out trying to get something working like this.
It seems to me, that MySQL (64 bit version) does install, but then you can't get it to run, and the MySQL preference pane does not work as well.

I did install the 64 bit, but the preference pane thinks that it is the 32 bit version.

However, it killed MySQL!
Does anybody know how I can get MySQl back? Or should I just re install it, and forget about the data? I was using the 32 bit version, should I upgrade this tothe 64 bit version of MySQL?

flex 3 runs fine, cfbuilder runs fine and Railo is smoking in snow leopard!

What is weird tho is that cfbuilder & flex builder wouldn't run on my leopard when I moved from java 1.5 to 1.6 and it was said that they needed 1.5 but SL only has 1.6 and they run fine.. go figure.

since Snow Leopard is out I'm faced with the fact, that there is no
Java 1.4 or 1.5 support anymore. I've got several customers running on
Coldfusion 7.0.2 that I need to support. Have you've got any idea how
I can "tune" Coldfusion 7.0.2 to run with Java 1.6?

I've found several solutions but none of them worked perfectly. I'll
tried adding -Djmx.invoke.getters=true to my JVM config / startup code
and Colfusion 7.0.2 started (with one error) and most of the stuff I
used for development worked perfectly with one exception: Verity. I
can't connect to my development Verity running on Linux in a Parallels
virtual machine.

Then I tried the howto on http://www.talkingtree.com/blog/index.cfm/2006/12/13/CFMX7-Verity-Java6
but I can't get Verity to work.

Does someone know how or has someone running Coldfusion 7 stable with
Verity support on Snow Leopard?

Thanks for you r reply!
I checkout your blog, and yes I think that Snow Leopard is not a major
upgrade, like from tiger to leopard, but I am still concerned as I
can't spend the ay with CF`-`
I am thinking about doing a clean install, even when I transfered
everything from mac to mac(using Leopard) the worst that happened was
that I lost my acphe settings along with the user apaches httd.config
files, which if that is the worst thing, that is nothing to complain
about`-`

dir_module to read:

setting index.cfm in apache on loepard

Can somebody remind me where in apache2 I change the settings to allow index.cfm to be severed as default index pages. That is if I go to localhost/John and in thi folder there is a index.cfm I would like to have it use this as the default and not have to go to http://localhost/John/index.cfm

Seems like they changed apache from 1.3 a lot. I remember this in the httpd.conf file.

The Solr service should work exactly like Verity - so you create with
cfcollection, index with cfindex, search with cfsearch. You get the
idea. The docs do cover this so I recommend checking them out.

Has anybody downloaded the Cf 9 beta? The standalone installs easy!
I was wondering if anybody knows about the SolR Search Services that comes with CF 9?

This seems like verity, but I wonder if there are any tutorials on setting this up. Can you use this with the cfcollection tag. I am just now looking into this tonight, but I thought that I would ask here too`-`
