Coldfusion Team Lead Role - Albany NY or Arlington VA

The Technical Team Lead primary functions are to lead a team of Coldfusion/SQL Server application developers in the development, implementation, and maintenance of web-based systems. The duties also include the coordination of the activities of the team tasks and deliverables, as well as conduct performance reviews.

    * Delegate assignments to developers.
    * Set and maintain goals for development team.
    * Estimate/forecast work that needs to be done.
    * Prepare level of effort estimates for complex technical development.
    * Write technical design/architecture documents.
    * Work with Project Manager/Business Analyst and Customer on Functional Design documents.
    * Perform code reviews and enforce coding standards.
    * Ensure code quality, including support when off-hours team cannot resolve issue.
    * Assess technical aptitude in technical staff and providing mentoring and targeted assignments to increase staff skill set.
    * Assist in staff selection and termination.
    * Conduct performance reviews.

Qualifications
 Knowledge, Skills and Ability

    * Exceptional customer service delivery to internal and external clients.
    * Ability to work in a team setting and manage multiple projects.
    * Ability to communicate complex information in a mentoring/training situation.
    * Ability to communicate effectively with business analysts and Program/Account Manager in requirements review and functional designs.
    * Thorough knowledge of ColdFusion MX, MS SQL Server, Advanced SQL Query writing and DTS package creation, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
    * Strong organization skills, time management, and follow through.
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Required Qualifications

    * Bachelors degree or experience equivalent.
    * ColdFusion MX and/or SQL Server 7/2000 with SQL Server DTS Package development required.
    * 5 plus years of Team Manager / Developer experience required.


Desired Qualifications

    * Experience leading team of developers, including supporting, mentoring and training junior developers.
    * Experience writing and conducting performance reviews.
    * Experience in staff retention, selection and hiring decisions.
    * Data Warehousing, ETL Tool, Data Conversion.
    * ActiveX, VB, VBScript, Command Line Batch utilities, PGP/file encryption, FTP, Zip/compression utilities.
    * Experience with Fusebox 3.0 or higher.
    * Data requirements gathering for a reporting system or data warehouse.
