Hello,

I just wanted to know wether I am allowed to use SMIL to create media which then will be distributed commercially? In more detail: I plan to make interactive videos using SMIL. The SMIL documents will then be sold along with videos for the user to play them in a SMIL compatible player. Are there any restrictions if I want to do this?

Hi Alex,

This is not a problem -- you may make use of SMIL for both commercial
and non-commercial purposes. Note that SMIL itself does not support copy
protection.
