Compaq Presario C300 - keyboard no longer works (snapshot 3rd June 2008)Compaq Presario C300 working fine with 4.2 and 4.3 BETA
(last snapshot 26th Feb - see dmesg.) Trying to help with the testing, so booted with snapshot of 3rd June, but cannot install. When I press "i" for install, I get ... pckbc: command timeout ... and a never-ending repetition of "i" This section in the working dmesg: pckbc0 at isa0 port 0x60/5 pckbd0 at pckbc0 (kbd slot) pckbc0: using irq 1 for kbd slot Has the third line changed when I boot off the snapshot CD: pckbc0: unable to establish interrupt for kbd slot I'll try a 4.3 install CD to see how that works, then a more recent snapshot, and do more Googling, but if anyone can point out something obvious that I have missed/should try, please let me know. Thanks. I'll carry on testing, especially with 4.3 and a newer snapshot, but guess this is a regression (ACPI used to work on this laptop.) Any feedback / things to try appreciated. Thanks. |

Sorry. Proceeds OK if I disable ACPI (so have installed 11th June snap.) If I boot off that snap WITHOUT disabling ACPI, I get messages that whiz by, and also messages like (NOT the exact order here!): Got Stack Arg: 61 2 Got Stack Arg: 62 2 Got Stack Arg: 61 3 Got Stack Arg: 64 2 Got Stack Arg: 63 2 Got Stack Arg: 60 2 And machine eventually locks up. What next? (acpidump is a ~150Kb file, so not posting here.) Thanks. |

Re: Compaq Presario C300 - keyboard no longer works (snapshot 3rd June 2008)We are battling a few memory leaks in ACPI. This is what causes your
machine to misbehave. Saw these recent posts: http://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=121409442418090&w=3 http://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=121234449912679&w=3 Not sure if recent changes should have helped with my "keyboard" issue, but there is no change - exactly the same behaviour from the snapshot of 19th June. Anything else I can do to help resolve this, please let me know. Thanks. |
