Khoem,

Thanks very much for your contribution!  We will be very pleased to
add it to SquirrelMail.

Some questions:

There is a "squirrelmail.po.tar.gz" file inside your tarball in the
squirrelmail directory, and it contains a squirrelmail.po file.  How
is it different than the squirrelmail.po file in the outter tarbal?
Why are there two?

Regarding the headers of your translations.  Many of the plugin
headers are inconsistent, but that's because they are inconsistent in
the repository to start with, so that's not exactly your fault.  ;-)
However, it would be nice to tidy up the headers in the main
squirrelmail.po file.  Please see the Swedish one under sv_SE and
compare yours to it.

> I would be great if I have svn  access right for maintaining the translation

We do not give translators write access to our repository, but will be
happy to update your translation when needed.

> The code for Khmer  is km_KH.

We will use just "km" unless there is a strong reason to add any
region information to the code.  (Please update your headers and
anything else as necessary if you don't mind.)

Thanks so very much for your contribution!

Cheers,

  Paul

This is just  the name of folder that I want to make sure that the
translations for squirrel mail. Now I change it, I have one folder called
"Khmer" and inside that folder there are 3 sub folders (Extra, Plugins and
squirrelmail). all files  in those sub folders are .po files.

Please find the completed file attached.

What you sent before was better - my question was why there was
*ANOTHER* tar.gz file *INSIDE* what you sent, in the "squirrelmail"
directory, and the only thing it contained was a copy of the
squirrelmail.po file.

Thank you.  You could change the copyright to 2009 now.  ;-)

Who should be listed as the official maintainers of the translation?
(Should Auk Piseth also be included as well as you?)

Thanks,

   Paul

Yes, should be ME and Auk Piseth  as the official maintainers.
Also, want to ask When it will be in Khmer? in which release of aquireelmail?

Can you please make the above change?  This is what I refer to:

# Copyright (c) 1999-2009 The SquirrelMail Project Team

>> Who should be listed as the official maintainers of the translation?
>> (Should Auk Piseth also be included as well as you?)
>

OK.

As well, if you would, please provide a translated version of the
image file found in the main SquirrelMail images directory called
sec_remove_eng.png.  It can also be found in our repository:

http://squirrelmail.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/squirrelmail/trunk/squirrelmail/images/sec_remove_eng.png?view=markup

Finally, in your testing, what did you add to functions/i18n.php?
Here is an example for Latvian.  Please show what you used.

$languages['lv_LV']['NAME']    = 'Latvian';
$languages['lv_LV']['ALTNAME'] = 'Latvių';
$languages['lv_LV']['CHARSET'] = 'utf-8';
$languages['lv_LV']['LOCALE'] = 'lv_LV.UTF-8';
$languages['lv']['ALIAS'] = 'lv_LV';

Note that LOCALE can contain multiple preferences in case the first
isn't found, such as:

$languages['sv_SE']['LOCALE']  = array('sv_SE.UTF-8','sv_SE');

> Also, want to ask When it will be in Khmer? in which release of aquireelmail?

As soon as we resolve all issues, I will commit the translation and it
will be supported in the next release (1.4.18), although I don't know
when the next locales package release will be made, but we'll see
about that.

There is no tool.  You have to make an entry like this for your
language in functions/i18n.php to see your language work in
SquirrelMail versions 1.4.x.

1) Simply change the msgstr for "sec_remove_eng.png" to
"sec_remove_kh.png".  It's very simple.
2) Yes, we would like to have the security image also translated.
3) Please also find in the squirrelmail.po file the same string (add
it if not found) and make sure it's translated.

Please name your archive files according to what they really are:
khmer.tar.gz would have been better.

We won't accept translations that are not copyright to the
SquirrelMail project, sorry.

Remember that we need the translated image file and the correct
$language array settings for i18n.php, including ALTNAME.

Thanks.  While I look that over, please don't forget:

As I mentioned above, remember that we need the translated image file
and the correct $language array settings for i18n.php, including
ALTNAME.

(after some off-list emails)

Thanks very much for your contribution.  The Khmer (km) translation
has now been added.  It is also an alias for km_KH.  Please check it
out of our repository here:

http://squirrelmail.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/squirrelmail/trunk/locales/locale/km/

Or wait a day and download a locales package snapshot from the very
bottom of this page:

http://squirrelmail.org/download.php

And update your copy of functions/i18n.php if you are using 1.4.x from here:

http://squirrelmail.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/squirrelmail/branches/SM-1_4-STABLE/squirrelmail/functions/

And then test and make sure it works.

Also, within a day, you should see the statistics for your translation here:

http://l10n-stats.squirrelmail.org/HEAD/km/squirrelmail/index.php

Thanks again,

  Paul

Thank YOU for making such a complete translation.  Your hard work
shows when you review the stats:

http://l10n-stats.squirrelmail.org/HEAD/top.php

You are the top on this page, and that doesn't even consider the fact
that you've translated EVERY other plugin file in the repository, far
beyond every other language except Vietnamese, which is close.

Thanks,

Paul
