Looks like a chunk of red hot piston came out the exhaust on the 5.13 pass right at the finish line. I hope he didn't hurt it too bad.

I heard it was part of a spark plug that came apart.

How in the heck you you suck a spark plug thru the hole and spit it out on the track glowen red? That is a new one for me.

It blew all of the ceramic out of #6 plug and kicked it out the exhaust. A glowing red piece of ceramic was lighting off the unburnrd fuel in the muffler. A part of it probably got under an intake valve which probably caused the backfire.

It had to have gotten a piston or 2 in all that. That was one hell of a fire if it lighted up the porcelain. That motor HAS to be hurt more than a spark plug.

I also heard the motor was fine, all cylinders checked out.. I believe the reason they didn't run in the finals was a hurt converter.. just what I heard..
