Re: Congratulations to Airship VenturesIndeed it was. It exceeded our wildest expectations. By the 2nd day we had increased to 9 flights per day, and were 100% sold out for the entire visit by the 3rd day. We even sold out the return LGB-NUQ flight (a 10 hour excursion up the coast), as well as selling out all but 4 odd-size commemorative Long Beach t-shirts we brought (we'll be re-stocking and selling them online soon).
Due to this, we scheduled a return visit for July 2-6 (ie, July 4 weekend) on the spot and have already sold a good portion of *those* flights. It may well be that we will be sold out for that trip before it even begins. On this visit, we did a fantastic 3 hour trip up the 405 past LAX and downtown LA to the Hollywood sign, UCLA, Sunset Blvd., Hollywood Bowl, Universal City, and Hollywood Hills and did a 15 minute demo at/for the Burbank airport (we have considered it as a future operating location more convenient for the Hollywood/Malibu crowd). There were so many famous sights to see, I thought the passengers were going to pop with delight. For the 4th, we plan a special fireworks viewing flight (8-10pm). Both the away and home teams really kicked butt to handle the crowds, and I don't think we have seen so many happy people in one week! LA has been very good to us!
