Controllaability problem

A friend's system includes a laptop running VNC viewer and a desktop
running VNC server.
The viewer machine is a netbook running (I think) WinXP and 802.11*
connected to his LAN.  The server machine is a desktop wired into the LAN.

Problem:  The viewer controls the cursor movement on the server but
isn't able to double-click open any icon on the server screen.

I've had a somewhat similar problem on my system. The viewer system is a
laptop, 802.11b connected to the LAN, the server desktop machine is
hardwired into the LAN.  On occasion, specific circumstances not noted,
I can't use the viewer to right-click on to reveal a hidden card in
Freecell.  Everything else seems to work OK, just that one minor function.

Thanks for any help.  I'd like to get my friend up and running on tightVNC.

Are the "Primary password" and the "View-only password" different (both in "user settings" and in "default settings")?

Claudio: I don't know, and won't be able to check with him 'till Friday.  Do you know if there is a preference for using the same or different pass words?
Thanks  --  dwf

It should be ok to use the same full-control and view-only passwords. In
that case, the full-control password will take effect.

There may be problems with mouse double-click events over slow and
wireless networks. However, double-clicks rather fail occasionally (when
the network adds a delay between the clicks). I have not heard of
situations when it's nearly impossible to double-click something.
