Countryside Management Courses
South Coast College (Hastings College) now offers courses for Countryside
Management designed to provide gateway qualifications into the Land Based
Industries or for further studies.
Working in partnership with Hastings Borough Council and Plumpton College
has opened the opportunity to study within one of the most beautiful areas
of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a varied range of
fauna and flora to provide exciting learning opportunities to anyone
interested in the British Countryside.
BTEC First Diploma level 2 in Countryside and the Environment,
This is a foundation course that introduces the core skills for working
within the land based environment. You will learn a range of both practical
skills i.e. fencing, land based machinery operation , conservation ,
ecological surveying and species identification and technical skills which
includes many factors that influence the development of natural
environment.

* Entry Requirements;
GCSE,s grades D-E or Foundation Certificate or NVQ Level 1
BTEC Diploma National Award Level 3 in Countryside Management,
This is the first year of a two year full time National Diploma course that
enables the learner to further investigate the more technical understanding
of conservation and habitat management. It is ideal for people who have
had some foundation training in Conservation management who may wish to
develop their career within the land based industry.
What will I learn?
Your studies will take you on a learning journey from understanding the
principles of flora/fauna and soil science, implementation of project
management including the practical aspects of Countryside Habitat
Management.
