Please provide a bit more information:
I suppose it's an Intel iMac
I also suppose you installed the right version of OOo
(www.openoffice.org and Mac Intel)
Which version of the Mac OS? 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 ?
It never happened to me that Save was grey...
Maybe install OOo anew? First trash the version you have in
Applications and the OOo map in Library>Application Support. Then
[download and] install again.
BTW: this kind of questions belongs in
