Hi All,

I gave it a go but was unable to get ZipArchive working on
csounds.com. Also tried getting pecl to install the zip package but
had issues with the version of pecl and pear, etc. Anyways, I'm
giving up for the moment as I spent more time than I probably should
have. :P

I've manually made a zip that one can download at:

I have a little free time tonight; haven't touched PHP in a while but
this shouldn't be very tricky to do as the UDO's are cached already.
I'll see if I can get this in tonight.

cSounds.com - for one-click download.

lpanal utility vs. pvsanal opcode

If I were to use the pvsanal and pvswrite opcodes to create PVOC-EX
analysis files,
would I be gaining extra flexibility or quality over using the command
line pvanal
utility, or would I be basically using the same routines?

Unrelated OT question: Does anyone know how to tell GNU Make to consider
a prerequisite out of date only if it exists? I'd want to make an
automatic rule to
tell Make that every .wav file is dependent on a .pvoc file with the
same root name,
but only if that pvoc file exists and is out of date. If the analysis
file does not exist,
I would want to always consider it up to date.

Just a quick note to point out that Jean-Pierre Lemoine has updated the

The composition tools have been expanded with an improved sequencer, an
implementation of Cmask, and a piano-roll scoring utility. Many other
significant improvements have been made to the program over the last
year, including a far more powerful performance/timeline screen.

Btw, the realtime features are pretty cool. Sometimes I set AVS up as a
Csound-based effects processor for realtime audio input, it's neat to
hear what the waveguide filters do to my voice and guitar. (They don't
necessarily improve but they do get weirder).

Apologies to JP if he intended his own announcement. I just couldn't
contain my enthusiasm. :)

New/retuned piece: Elegy, for Jon

"Elegy, for Jon" is a JI retuning/rearrangement of a piece called "Solar
Midnight" from Complex Silence 4 (which used a non-rational Phi-based
tuning). Unbeknownst to me, I finished it on the day that my closest
friend Jonathan Gams passed away, and it is offered in his memory.

Made with Csound and blue using Kraig Grady's Centaur tuning.

set in XCode to add portaudio to the link libraries. It should not
need to do that. It says it's a warning, but it looks the only thing

hi, how do i send a note off event using csound's c++ api?

i wish to send note data just like using the virtual midi keyboard.

I can send a note on with the code below which works, ive set duration to -1 so the note is held down, but how do i release the note later on?

double amp, pith, dur;
dur = -1.0;
amp = 9000;
pitch = 1000;

MYFLT p[6];

p[1] = (MYFLT) 1;
p[2] = (MYFLT) 0;
p[3] = (MYFLT) dur;
p[4] = (MYFLT) pitch;

If it's a prefence thing, I doubt reinstalling will work. Let me know
if it doesn't and I'll make a simple preference nuking utility. (Or
better yet if you can identify the offending preference, I can build
checks for it)

Seems to work now but only in administrator mode. It still hangs in
non-administrator mode, I don't know what the problem is, it was
working on the machine a few hours ago? Strange, when I get a chance

QuteCsound uses the QSettings class from Qt to set the preferences.
QSettings will use platform recommended ways of setting preferences,
so it will use the Windows registry, save in ˜/Library/Preferences on
OS X and save to a ˜/.config/ file in other *nix.
I assume you are on Windows, so you woould need to look for csound and
qutecsound in the registry, and get rid of that. If you have trouble,
let me know and I'll make a simple utility to clean preferences.

Just out of curiosity does qutecsound save preferences in a resource
file or an external file that can be edited manually? I'm having a few
issues with QC in one of our labs, it just hangs on startup. I have a
feeling that it might be trying to open a file that doesn't exist,
would that do it? I was looking for some kind of xml file in the QC
dir but couldn't find one.
