Custom playlist generation -- individual tracks?

Hello

After wondering for a while if it was possible to create playlists
from individual tracks as opposed to full albums/directories, I was
very glad to note this in the changelog of version  2.3 [16th March
2003]:

- MISC: Allow individual songs to be selected with the custom playlist feature.

However, I'm not being deliberately obtuse but I can't find anything
in the gnump3d.conf to enable this, nor in the interface.

If anyone could give me a pointer I'd be very grateful.
