Phillip:

You posted a message on ABRF about a year ago concerning some ABI 3730
errors.  In your reply e-mail you mentioned a specific error
"Autosampler serial port communication failed"  Did you ever figure out
what was causing this error message?  Was it a default ground wire?  Any
help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Malinda

My major Autosampler problem arose because I had changed the default
FTP root folder location on the console computer for reasons that need
not concern us here. As a result, a calibration file that the sequencer
grabs and uses from the default FTP root folder was not being updated by
ABI service technicians during calibrations. So, no matter what
calibrations they did, they would only last until the next time I
restarted the machine.

All my other autosampler issues resulted from sensors burning out. The
fix for this, other than just replacing sensors as they fried, was to
buy new waste/buffer/water container lids with fresh, tight gaskets.
That prevented liquids from dripping onto the autosampler.

That is all that comes to mind, anyway.

Phillip
