The problem we have is that we are running DWR 2.0.5 in production and
actually encountered the deadlock documented in DWR-287. Since this is a
production environment we are reluctant to just grab the latest out of
subversion. We would prefer to obtain an official release with the fix for
the problem.
Our hand may be forced, however, if the release is scheduled for the far
distant future. The problem then becomes setting up the proper project
environment to build and jar DWR. We did some research into just that area
and discovered that the 1.3 JDK is targeted but that the jetty jar was built
with a 1.4 target while we target 1.5 with our code. While I am sure we can
figure out the proper resolution to the JDK level given time, it highlights
the fact that we have not done it before and raises the concern that we will
improperly build DWR in some way that doesn't manifest until it is used in
the "wild."
