When i reconfigure the debian (lenny) package to start in daemon mode at boot, the perl lib client doesnt appear to pick up the altitude (reads 0) for some reason. If i do:
/etc/init.d/gpsd stop
gpsd /dev/gps0
it comes right.
Does anyone know if this is a quirk of the perl lib, or the way im running the perl lib, or something else?
I did make some change to the gpsd hotplug script previously (some web tip) to get hotplug to work on usb insert.
