Thank you for the reply, Pam.  I should qualify that the CSV file is not
empty, it just does not have the data for the advancements in it.  I'll trim
some of the unit detail in the file, but this is what is there from last
month's file:

============
001,1,A,20090821,154543,PackMaster ME,02.00,
020,2,Pack,0299,201003,Allegha<trim>,,,,,,20090821,20090824,20090821,
900,3,
============

Scott,

I noticed something in your line data there that said PackMaster ME.

Are you using the latest version of PM or have you upgraded to the latest version yet? I know when they changed from TM ME to TM2005 there were some issues converting files. Then again when they upgraded from TM2005 to TM2008.

Could this be part of the problem? Just thinking out loud here...

Ken,

I suspect that the ME isn't a problem, though I wouldn't ever discount
anything when trying to determine the cause of a problem.

Here is my most recent IS file (stripped a little).

001,1,A,20090825,55145,TroopMaster ME,2,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

020,2,Troop,9322,201001,Rolling Hills, ..,,,,,,20090825,20090825,20090825

021,3,.,19910827,,20090816,3,

021,4,.,19910827,,20090817,5,

021,5,.,19910827,,20090824,RL,

021,6,.,19940216,,20090816,3,

021,7,..,19940216,,20090817,5,

021,8,..,19940216,,20090824,RL,

900,9,

Notice that I have "Troopmaster ME" in my header, but I'm running TM 2008
and my master file was never processed as TM ME.

Chuck & Ken:
I suspect the header info is coded into the output routine and has not been
updated with the version updates.  I am using the most recent version
(4.01a), and the problem showed up before the last update. I first saw this
in March. The platform is Windows XP Professional 2002 SP3 on a Intel Core 2
Duo T7700.

Thanks,
Scott

Yes, Scott, the literals are most probably coded into the output generation
routines and probably haven't been updated in years. It's a situation of "if
it ain't broke, don't fix it". Also, I seriously doubt the Op/Sys and
processor have anything to do with the problem either. In fact, your
hardware and Op/Sys are almost 100% identical to mine. XP Pro, SP3, Core 2
Duo, running at 2.2GHz (don't know the model processor).

As much as I hate to say it, but, since no one else on the list is reporting
the same or similar problem, I suspect the problem is data oriented.
Something in the PM files is not allowing the data to be extracted.

Having never used PM, does it have "R" and "P" flags to indicate "Reported"
and "Presented"? If so, are they by any chance checked in the rank(s) you
want to send to IA rather than unchecked? If you have them "Reported" and
"Presented" then the extract routine will not extract the data for IA.

If you manually report advancement and then subsequently preset it,
logically one would mark both flags as the advancement is "reported" and
then "presented". That basically tells the IA extract routines that this
particular award has "been taken care of".

I would start there and make sure that the advancement is in a state to be
reported to IA.

Update -

I'm going to give this another month.  I did not get any advancements this
month as I was expecting.  I thought I would be getting the bobcats from
the tigers and other new recruits, but there were none.  I'll update if I
have anything new to report in the mean time.

Thanks to all for your consideration.

YiS,
Scott
