Assuming ABI compatibility with the previous version, I don't see why
not. I can't commit to a timescale other than "for Lucid" though.

Is there any chance of a full-blown release from upstream? We can
package updates, but generally prefer not to package Git/SVN snapshots
where possible

That's the way debian handles staring and stopping daemons but it's a
pretty heavy example.

Adding
mono myapp.exe > /var/log/myapp.log 2>&1 &
to
/etc/rc.local

would do it too, but on server shutdown it will simply kill the process
(SIGTERM) (if that's a problem).. actually that's the default of daemon
scripts anyhow :) (via start-stop-daemon)

The cleanest approach would be to use mono-service for this, but there
are no hooks yet (in debian) which you can use. You have to setup it
yourself.... mono-service is like the windows service kind of thing, a
central place where all services are managed and monitored.

Running Mono-App's in the Background

Hi,
i'd wrote an App (C# - Visual Studio 2008 - .NET Framewok 2.0) and i want to run it at my debian-etch server all the time in the background.

now, i start the app throught

$> mono App.exe

and if i close putty (ssh client) the App.exe closes.

Can you help me?

Updating nant for mono-3.5 profile

Hi all

Today I spoke with directhex 0.85 not supporting mono-3.5 profile. While
0.86b1 exists it's pretty old (2007-12-08) with has bugs that have been
fixed it the cvs head. It appears that nant development is very slow
(stalled?) at the moment. Therefore the cvs head is the most practical
and stable version to be used.

However to take one step at a time I started looking at moving to
0.86b1, and now have questions!

I understand the concept of get-orig-source but not how to use it. Is it
possible to run it locally to create the *.orig.tar.gz? Or do I have to
do this manually?

nant is currently nant-0.85.dfsg following the pattern should this
become nant-0.86beta1+dfsg?

Do patch numbers have to sequential? Certain patches need removing so
should all the names be bumps down? (004_my-patch -> 003_my-patch)

Looking to use the cvs head is it better to use an unversioned nightly
build (nant-latest-src.tar.gz) or cvs head itself?

If so is this get-orig-source cvs example ok?

My concern is with LINQ support. From what I understand, 1.9.1 supports LINQ To Objects and LINQ To XML. Is that correct?

System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser error

On a Debian system with the mono-2.0 packages installed, my application
fails at run time when trying to create a new instance of:

this.webBrowser = new System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser();

The mono project page says this class has been implemented:
